Puratos' modular booth for Expo Mexipán 2026. I designed it at MATTR and The MADE Company built it; I later made a compact version for another event.
Contexto
Context
Puratos desarrolla ingredientes para panadería, pastelería y chocolate. En Mexipán le habla a dos públicos: el panadero artesanal y la industria. Tener un poco de todo: exhibición de producto y de cómo se elabora, sala de estar, cocina en vivo y sala de juntas.
Puratos develops ingredients for bakery, patisserie and chocolate. At Mexipán it speaks to two audiences: artisan bakers and industry. Have a bit of everything: product display and how it's made, a lounge, a live kitchen and a meeting room.

Partir el programa en tres módulos con el mismo lenguaje —marquesina roja con listones de madera— que en la expo se leen como uno solo.
MRLASplit the program into three modules sharing one language —a red canopy with timber slats— that read as one on the show floor.

How it works
Un módulo de industria con pantalla, mostrador y rack de panadería al frente. Al centro, un muro verde con pantalla y una barra larga con bancos, bajo un letrero circular. Al otro lado, una caja de madera de pan artesanal, con vitrinas de pan y dos salas de juntas.

Design decisions
Las marquesinas dicen «Industrial & Retail» y «Pan artesanal»: cada visitante sabe desde el pasillo a qué lado ir.
The canopies read "Industrial & Retail" and "Pan artesanal", so each visitor knows from the aisle which side to go to.
Las tres piezas funcionan juntas o sueltas; en los renders hay una versión con los módulos separados.
The three pieces work together or apart; the renders include a version with the modules separated.
Las salas de juntas quedan dentro de la caja de madera; el centro abierto, con barra y bancos, es el punto de encuentro.
The meeting rooms sit inside the timber box; the open centre, with a bar and stools, is the meeting point.
04Muro verde vivo al centro, concreto en el módulo industrial y madera en el de panadería artesanal: cada público reconoce su zona por el material, bajo la misma marquesina roja.
A living green wall at the centre, concrete for the industrial module and timber for the artisan-bakery one: each audience recognises its zone by the material, under the same red canopy.
05La sala de juntas de madera lleva un muro de vidrio hacia el pasillo interior: da privacidad para la mesa sin dejar de sentirse parte del stand.
The timber meeting room has a glass wall facing the inner aisle: it gives the table privacy without ever feeling cut off from the booth.
06Cada puerta lleva su propio rótulo «Sala de juntas», repetido en las repisas de pan del muro de enfrente: nadie necesita preguntar hacia dónde ir.
Each door carries its own 'Sala de juntas' sign, echoed on the bread shelving across from it: nobody has to ask which way to go.
