A running event for On in Mexico City, at MATTR: runners go from the ground floor to the rooftop up the parking garage's spiral ramp, where a happening with a DJ, food, massages and product sales is waiting. We were finalists.

Context
On es una marca suiza de tenis y ropa para correr. On Squad Race es su evento de running en la Ciudad de México; la gráfica lo resume en «Your Race, Your Squad». Convertir un edificio de estacionamiento en la ruta y la meta de una carrera, y la azotea en una fiesta con muchas piezas distintas que se leyeran como una sola marca.
On is a Swiss running shoe and apparel brand. On Squad Race is its running event in Mexico City; the graphics sum it up as "Your Race, Your Squad". Turn a parking garage into the route and finish of a race, and its rooftop into a party with many different pieces reading as one brand.

El edificio es la carrera: se sube vuelta tras vuelta por la rampa de los coches hasta llegar arriba. Todo habla un mismo lenguaje de metal, blanco y líneas de luz fría.
MRLAThe building is the race: you climb lap after lap up the car ramp until you reach the top. Everything speaks one language of metal, white and lines of cool light.
Cómo funciona
How it works
La carrera sale de la planta baja y da la vuelta a todo el edificio por la rampa en espiral, con frases en el piso como «One more turn» y «Don't break now». Arriba, en la azotea con piso rojo de pista, está el happening: DJ en el escenario con arco de truss y pantalla, comida, masajes, venta de producto en carpas y la pirámide de tenis, un lounge de pufs, zonas de mesas, el podio, arcos de luz y el logo de On iluminado. Todo el perímetro va con vallas metálicas iluminadas.
The race starts on the ground floor and loops around the whole building up the spiral ramp, with phrases on the floor such as "One more turn" and "Don't break now". At the top, on the rooftop with its red track floor, the happening: a DJ on the stage with a truss arch and screen, food, massages, product sales in tents and the shoe pyramid, a beanbag lounge, table areas, the podium, light arches and an illuminated On logo. The whole perimeter is lined with lit metal barriers.

01La carrera da la vuelta a todo el edificio por la rampa de los coches; el piso lleva frases de ánimo y las vallas, luz: cada vuelta cuenta.
The race loops the whole building up the car ramp; the floor carries words of encouragement and the barriers carry light: every lap counts.
Vallas, truss, carpas y mobiliario comparten el acabado metálico y las líneas de luz: muchas piezas, una sola imagen.
Barriers, truss, tents and furniture share the metallic finish and the light lines: many pieces, one image.
El podio con pantalla, los arcos de luz y el logo de On en gran formato se reparten por la azotea para que en cada zona haya algo que ver.
The podium with its screen, the light arches and the large On logo are spread across the rooftop so every zone has something to see.

Cada pieza está modelada por separado, con el mismo acabado metálico y las mismas líneas de luz.
Each piece is modeled on its own, with the same metallic finish and the same light lines.

Outcome
Quedamos finalistas, entre el primer y el segundo lugar, y al cliente le gustó mucho; al final no se construyó. Son cerca de 20 piezas diseñadas para un mismo evento.
We were finalists, down to the last two, and the client loved it; in the end it wasn't built. It adds up to about 20 pieces designed for a single event.
